Nothing earth-shattering here, just felt like starting a Blog. Today’s HHS News brings word that HHS is “reinforcing” the importance of abstinence education. Interesting that some groups say that this type of program actually hurts things like Aids prevention efforts. AP reports that it is the “balance” between Abstinence, Being faithful, and Condom use that has made so-called “ABC” programs successful:

Critics contended that the Uganda model was successful because all three approaches were given equal importance. Uganda, while stressing abstinence and monogamy, has also been distributing 80 million condoms a year, Lantos said. “Countless lives will be lost if we fail to learn this lesson,” he said.
